Anthony Alder has more than 20 years’ experience with the commercialisation of high level technology developed by worldwide companies. Anthony has previously worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal, ResMed Ltd, Ventracor Ltd, Hunter Immunology Ltd, and boutique patent attorney firms. He has also worked extensively in the medical device industry working on implantable left ventricle assist device (artificial hearts), bionic hearing, and respiratory treatment technology including respirators and CPAP.
Anthony is the founder of Alder IP and is a qualified NSW Supreme Court Solicitor (lawyer), Patent and Trade Mark Attorney, and Domain Name Arbitrator in Australia.
Anthony has Bachelor degrees in Biology/Chemistry and Law (Macquarie University, Sydney); Master’s degree in intellectual property law (UTS, Sydney); Diploma in Legal Practice Management (College of Law) and Advanced Diplomas in Applied Corporate Governance. Anthony is also a Fellow of Institute of Patent Attorneys.
Anthony was previously a board member of Trans-Tasman IP Attorney Board for all Australian and NZ patent attorneys which assists IP Australia and IPONZ in setting industry standards in the field.
Anthony was featured in the Top 1000 IP Laws Book published by IAM in 2014 and 2016. Anthony has prosecuted inventions in fields of technology including: medical devices; pharmaceuticals; food; cosmetics; digital app innovations; bitcoin trading systems; biotechnology; building products; electrical inventions and industrial chemistry.
Anthony’s practical expertise acquired from working in-house with many Australian companies allows to him fully understands the needs of start-up businesses in the high technology spaces.
