Brittany completed her Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and microbiology at the University of Otago in 2016. Following her undergraduate studies, Brittany completed an intensive 10 week research project under the supervision of Professor Wayne Patrick at the University of Otago, which explored the activity landscape of the “perfect” enzyme, triose-phosphate isomerase. 

Prior to joining Alder IP, Brittany worked as a Patent Examiner at IPONZ in the Life Sciences team for 3 years. During her time at IPONZ, Brittany examined a substantial number of biotechnology, chemical, and biochemical patent applications. Brittany then worked as a Trainee Patent Attorney in New Zealand. During this time, Brittany further developed her understanding and experience within the New Zealand IP sector and began studying toward a Masters of Intellectual Property at the University of Technology, Sydney.

 

Brittany joined Alder IP in 2023 as a Trainee Patent Attorney, where she continues to work toward obtaining registration as a Trans-Tasman Patent Attorney. Brittany’s experience includes preparing and prosecuting trade mark applications, and patent filing and prosecution across a breadth of technologies at both IPONZ and IP Australia.
